how we got started

What we believe

Campus Clubs Inc. began with only three participants, but it continues to grow both locally and regionally with an emphasis on changing the lives of youth around the world. Today with the direction of Tony Lowden (Executive Director), Campus Clubs Inc. invests in the cultural, physical, and emotional needs of the youth. Through perseverance and desire Campus Clubs has become a mainstay in the Macon Georgia community. Campus Clubs was recently recognized by the World Magazine as one of the most effective community organizations in the nation (October Edition)!

The Birth of Campus of Campus Club Milledgeville!

In November of 2008, understanding that some youth were attracted to artistic expression, Campus Clubs Inc. created Campus Club Milledgeville; a satellite Campus Club with an emphasis to serve youth with interests in artistic expressions. We are located at 116 Frank Bone Road, in Milledgeville Georgia. The arts, technology, and education are the three-area focus of our model. Campus Club-Milledgeville will capture the attention of youth through the arts and technology, and then instill in them the importance of education. These artistic gifts include, but are not limited to, songwriting, poetry, dancing, singing, instrumentation, graphic artistry, photography, and writing.

Why This Program Is Needed
Research strongly suggests that young people who learn about and participate in the arts acquire skills that help them in decision making, problem solving, creative thinking, and teamwork. An increasing number of studies also find that arts programs motivate children to learn, assisting in improving performance in core academic subjects. For some children, the arts provide the impetus to stay in school until graduation and, for others, the inspiration to pursue a college education.

Our Motto

Reaching youth through what they WANT to learn, teaching youth what they NEED to learn.

Our Mission

A complete multi-media audio/video production facility, which trains youth with skills that develop their artistic gifts while preparing them to succeed in a competitive job market as adults.

Core Beliefs

  • We Believe there is no such thing as an unreachable child.

  • We Believe a structured environment promoting artistic freedom creates a healthy environment for youth to flourish and develop.

  • We Believe a child’sartistic freedom produces a confident respect that permeates his/her life into adulthood.

  • We Believe development in the arts, technology, and education will change the lives of our youth for the better.
